Where do I get books?
BOOKITCA does not sell books. It opens files you already have: DRM-free ebooks, audiobooks, your own recordings. Public domain titles are available through OPDS catalogs, with Project Gutenberg built in.
Which formats are supported?
Ebooks in EPUB. Audiobooks as M4B with chapters, M4A or MP3. A folder of files is one book, each file one chapter. PDF support comes later.
What about DRM?
Watermarked books (so-called social DRM) work fine. Books encrypted with Adobe DRM will not open.
Which storage services work?
The beta supports Dropbox, iCloud Drive and WebDAV (Synology, Nextcloud or your own server). OneDrive, Google Drive, Box and pCloud are in progress.
How much does it cost?
Nothing. No ads, no subscription. If you like it, you can leave an optional tip in the app.
What does it run on?
iPhone and iPad with iOS 17 or later.
What happens to my data?
BOOKITCA has no server, no user accounts and no analytics. Your books and reading state stay in your storage. This website only stores the email you enter in the beta form.
